Matthew

That's right, Kathy and I are now grandparents. Our son had a baby boy, technically, for those that don't know the birds and the bees thing, his girlfriend had a baby, but Jerry was half of the tango.

So with no further ado I am pleased to announce the birth of Matthew Daniel Cook. Born November 2, 2001 at 12:54 P.M. Standing 19.02 inches tall (if he could stand yet) and weighing in at 6 pounds 10.7 ounces.

Here's Matthew (he's the one in the blue blanket), his parents, Jerry and Dawnyel, and his future partner in mischief Bubby.

Dawnyel must have taken the hint and let Kathy watch Matthew for a while. Little do they know that a grandparents' job is to spoil their grandkids as much as possible before giving them back to Mommy and Daddy to learn that bad word "NO".

Well it's Christmas already, time flies when your having fun, here's me and Matthew getting ready to have some fun eating and opening presents. We might take a little break in between for a nap.

He's still just checking out all his new stuff.

He sure does seem excited about all his new stuff.

O.K. maybe it's not all the stuff he got for Christmas that has him all excited. It could be that everyone in the house is paying him all the attention.

I'm sure he appreciates all the gifts and attention, but I think he's had about enough. After a quick nap he'll be back and ready for action again.

Babies sure grow fast and Matthew is no exception. He's a very happy baby, and loves to be the center of attention. Here he is hamming it up for the camera, like father like son!

Look out, he can get around by himself now and he's getting better at it every day. This increasing ability is paralleled by his ability to get into things he shouldn't. Time to childproof the house. Yeah right, anyone who has tried that knows it cannot be done. Just don't let him out of your sight!!!

Isn't it funny to see how a baby can make a full grown person act so goofy. Matthew thinks it's funny too. Mission accomplished!
